Did I forget something? Oh yes, Pictures At An Exhibition, orchestrated by master colourist Ravel.
Excellent thoughts for orchestral planning of well-known Non-orchestral mechanism!! People enjoyed using these themes and posts. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteThanks very much for these? I'm still looking for the orchestration of Chopin's 24 preludes, perhaps done by Balakirev. I heard it years ago and it was a hoot. But I've tried several times over the years to find the recording to no avail. Have you heard them or heard of them?
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to listen to your list. Thanks again for thinking of this subgenre and for choosing the tracks and setting all of this up.

Thanks, I added Balakirev's Chopin Suite, and will add the orchestration if 24 preludes when I find them.
ReplyDeleteMarius Constant arranged Ravel's "Gaspard de la nuit" - it's on YouTube conducted by Christoph Eschenbach.
